CORROSION-RESISTANT AND DURABLE, SUITABLE FOR MULTIPLE WORKING CONDITIONS, POLYPROPYLENE FILTER CLOTH HAS BECOME THE PREFERRED CORE MATERIAL FOR INDUSTRIAL FILTRATION

With the continuous upgrading of industrial wastewater treatment and solid-liquid separation processes, corrosion-resistant and highly stable polypropylene (PP) filter cloth has seen widespread adoption in the chemical, electroplating, mining and municipal environmental protection sectors, becoming the mainstream filter material for acid and alkali filtration at ambient temperatures. The basis weight of general-purpose industrial polypropylene filter cloth available on the market ranges from 500 to 900 g/m², with 600 g/m², 700 g/m² and 800 g/m² being the mainstream specifications for plate-and-frame filter presses and sludge dewatering applications; these can be flexibly customised according to filtration precision and material concentration. Compared to traditional polyester filter cloth, polypropylene filter cloth offers superior resistance to strong acids, strong alkalis and hydrolysis. It can operate stably over the long term in highly corrosive slurries, has a wide pH range and is suitable for the vast majority of wet filtration applications. This material can withstand operating temperatures of up to 90 degrees Celsius; it is structurally stable, resistant to deformation and does not absorb water, effectively preventing common issues such as swelling, pore blockage and deterioration.

When used in equipment such as plate-and-frame filter presses, chamber filter presses and belt dewatering systems, polypropylene filter cloths of different grammages are suited to varying filtration conditions: low-grammage filter cloths offer high water permeability and are suitable for routine wastewater clarification; high-grammage filter cloths have a dense structure and greater tensile strength and pressure resistance, making them suitable for high-pressure dewatering operations involving high-concentration mineral slurries and thick sludge. This series of filter cloths features uniform pore distribution, excellent water permeability and smooth cake discharge, significantly enhancing the dewatering efficiency of sludge, mineral slurries and chemical waste residues, whilst effectively reducing the moisture content of the filter cake. Furthermore, polypropylene filter cloths are wear-resistant and can be repeatedly rinsed and regenerated; their service life far exceeds that of ordinary filter cloths, substantially reducing the frequency of consumable replacements and equipment downtime for enterprises, thereby lowering production and operational costs.

Currently, with increasingly stringent environmental regulations across various regions and growing demand from enterprises to reduce costs and improve quality, the market for corrosion-resistant polypropylene filter cloth continues to grow steadily. Thanks to its comprehensive advantages—including stable chemical properties, high cost-effectiveness and broad applicability—polypropylene filter cloth has become an indispensable basic filtration material in the field of industrial solid-liquid separation, continuously supporting various industries in achieving efficient filtration, clean production and green environmental upgrades.
