Recently, the China National Intellectual Property Administration published the latest patent grant information, announcing that the “Ultrasonic Cutting Mechanism for Industrial Filter Fabrics” has officially been granted a utility model patent (Publication No. CN224494713U), marking a new breakthrough in precision processing technology for industrial filter fabrics in China. This patented technology effectively addresses industry pain points associated with traditional filter fabric cutting—such as frayed edges, dimensional deviations and high wastage rates—providing core technical support for improving the quality and efficiency of filter fabric production.

It is understood that traditional industrial filter fabric cutting predominantly relies on mechanical cutting methods, which suffer from issues such as uneven cut edges, prone to thread fraying and poor high-temperature resistance. These problems not only affect the filtration precision of the filter fabric but also increase raw material wastage and subsequent operational and maintenance costs. The newly approved ultrasonic cutting mechanism utilises high-frequency ultrasonic vibrations to achieve seamless cutting. It is compatible with various high-performance filter fabric materials, such as polyester, polypropylene and aramid, significantly improving cutting precision and completely eliminating issues such as fraying and damage to the edges of the filter fabric. Furthermore, the equipment features a high degree of automation and can flexibly adapt to custom cutting requirements for filter fabrics of different specifications, boosting production efficiency by over 30 per cent and reducing raw material wastage by nearly 20 per cent.

Currently, downstream industries such as environmental protection, chemicals and new energy are continuously raising their requirements for the precision, stability and durability of industrial filter fabrics; refined and intelligent production has become a core trend in the filter fabric industry’s development. Industry insiders note that the practical application of this patented technology has effectively addressed technical shortcomings in the precision processing of mid- to high-end filter fabrics, helping enterprises move away from extensive production models. In the future, as this new technology is rolled out on a large scale, it will further drive the transformation and upgrading of the industrial filter fabric industry towards high precision, low wastage and intelligent manufacturing, providing superior support for sectors such as industrial solid-liquid separation and waste gas and wastewater treatment.
